The Gunblade vs. The HTML Swiss Army Knife
You know what they say: all work and no play makes a dull HTML Swiss Army Knife. After two weeks of slicing and dicing images in Photoshop like a much-vaunted food processor, the weary HTML Swiss Army Knife emerged from his foxhole with the latest issue of EX. A little worse for wear but with a sense of relief from the brief respite until the next issue, the HTML utensil sat down to write a few words before scurrying off to ship the files to the server.
But the effort was truly worth it! The issue was actually on schedule, and just like Billy Boy in Redmond, the HTML utensil did not recall the last time that had happened. As a reward for the timely delivery of the issue, his apprentice knife Rika produced a copy of the majestic FINAL FANTASY VIII, kept safely out of the HTML Knife's reach until the issue was done. Priorities, priorities!

How do you spell "Trouble?"
For Sega or Nintendo, it's spelled "PlayStation 2." The announced specs were enough to make most self-respecting console manufacturers quake in their boots: Sony's Wunderkind is faster than a speeding PIII, packs the polygon-crunching power of seven Dreamcast consoles, and offers backwards compatibility with existing PlayStation software. All while juggling a hedgehog and a plumber. Shiver me timbers!
Meanwhile, Sega hopes to cement its marketshare by selling a lot of Dreamcasts over the next year, especially over the holiday season when people are most likely to buy shiny objects. Will Sony stage an ambush right before Christmas? Yikes!

It's Our Party (And We'll Cry If We Want To!)
The latest Square offering may seem like a birthday gift to the HTML Swiss Army Knife, but it's not his party he's celebrating. The next issue will mark the third anniversary of this humble publication, and the HTML Knife thanks each and every one of EX's readers for their kind words of support and encouragement. Pass the bubbly, said the HTML Knife, for it's time to party!
And with that, the HTML Swiss Army Knife packed the files, shipped them off to the server, and pitter pattered off to play his copy of FINAL FANTASY VIII.
